Can someone please tell me how to upload a forum using the XOOPS admin board?? It says it can upload tar files (whatever they are) but when I saved a forum and unzipped it (??) it says it cant be done. How do you get these files that are zipped into tar files??

I have no clue what to do as I am not computer saavy to say the least. I would rather use a forum from XOOPS than use an SMF.

If anyone can help with this and a few other installations (RSS,News & a few templates) I'd throw a few bucks your way.

Thanks in advance.

John

There are varying ways. I would download Filezilla
latest version it's free and quite good.

This is quite a good tutorial Filezilla tutorial

There are also some great XOOPS tutorials although I am not sure where they are, others will be sure to help.

You have done the right thing unzip/untar the module and read any documentation that comes with it (very important).

Have a play with filezilla anyway FTP'ing is important to know.

Thanks Darin for the info. But my problem is that I cannot sit for more than 10 minutes at the comp because of back surgery.

So if anyone can do this, I'd appreciate it greatly.
