This tutorial will teach you how to build a XOOPS Ajax module.
It also teaches you how to assign user interactions to specific smarty templates in xoops.

Thanks for posting this.

I've tried to use Ajax, but have had mixed results. Maybe your tutorial will help me.

KaotiK

Just wanted say THANKS for your excellent tutorials. I read a few PHP books but have been struggling to get started in module writing with XOOPS due to the lack of documentation on this kind of thing. Your tutorials are the 'missing link' I needed to bridge the gap between PHP and XOOPS module development. The style is very clear, I hope you will do more :)

I also hope your tutorials can be shared with docs.xoops.org, they are key documents to the system IMHO. People have been asking for this for years, so thanks :)

thank you all for the kind words. I have 2 more tutorials planned

Giba: thank you my friend.

Dave_L: I feel honored for you to be reading my tutorial. I've learned so much from you in the past, without your guidance and assistance I'd still be trying to understand what $_POST[] does

Re: Tutorial- How to build an Ajax Module

Hi, Your module installed without any errors. When I click on tutorial on the front page there is nothing there?

Does this module work with php5 and mysql5?

script_fu: yes it does. Did you test the completed version? If so did you read through the tutorial alerting to several issues regarding Ajax and Xoops?

Wow... I got this to work. Excellent kaotik thank you so much. I agree this is like finding the missing link! I will be able to start my own module based on this.

I hope you like lots of questions!
