In the past, I used the News module as my homepage but since when I enter my homepage the url has modules/news attached, I wanted to know how to make a homepage just like this XOOPS site and post things on there so that the URL remains www.domainname.com with nothing added on. Please help! Thank you.

I am using XOOPS 2.0.16.

You can create a custom "block" and dump html into it

You can use a content editing module (I like cjayedit) and create the news there.

You can make a News block visisble as the only block on the main page.

Several options....

I have the same problem, and want to know if it is possible to change a script somewhere so that when you do use your news module in your starter page, that the url doesnt change from www.mysite.com to www.mysite.com/modules/news

I found that the change in the url on the starter page reduced my google ranking, and made google unaware of my site.

It is easier to use the news module on starter page, as to use a custom block with html, for me, as I take too long writing in html.

Any other suggestions on this, I am sure someone clever out there knows how to fix this?

Hi,

you may use some of news blocks to display content from news module on front page or use a spotlight module for more options - search for xm-spotlight ...
..

Thanks for your suggestions. If I use a news block to display some news content on the front page, it is only displaying the Artickle name and date as a link to the Artickle. Is there a newsblock that can display some of the artikle content as well?

In the meantime, I will search for the xm-spotlight module, to also see how that can work. It is midnight in my country, so I will check back here by tomorrow.

Thanks for helping this novice!!
