The server for my site has told me that certain files on my site are being used a bit too much and causing it to crash.

Quote:

Top Process %CPU 106 /usr/bin/php visit.php
Top Process %CPU 98.5 /usr/bin/php article.php
Top Process %CPU 97.0 /usr/bin/php viewcat.php

The above is what he sent me. Anyone know how I can reduce the CPU usage of these files?

Have you read this article I wrote;

However, if you are using a shared hosting service (which it sounds like you are), then there is a not a great deal you can do apart from configuring you XOOPS caching options. They are well worth it though.

Do you configure the cache as on or off?
