Hi all,

Newbie in town. Had search the forum, but cant find the answers. I may not be looking at the right place.

a) How do I remove (not deactivate) a module? I deleted a module in my server but it still appears in my "system admin" module.

b) anyone has any recommendations for the follow modules? I'm currently developing a website using XOOPS 2.0.16.
- Downloads (a module where I can enable folks to download files)
- Calender (just experiemented with "Tiny Event", but I would like to have a fucntion where a calender can be shown on the home page and users can click on the day to see what event there is on that day)
- Photos (a module where folks can view albums. Tried xsgal, installed but cant seems to work i.e. cant see in admin module)
- Contact Us (a module where users can type in their questions)

thanks in advance!
Wyatt

This is NOT the proper way to remove a module from your xoops. You should go in Administration -> system admin -> modules and:

1. Deactivate the module - uncheck the check bok box in "Active" column for the coresponding module(s), scroll down and click "Submit", confirm on the next screen.
2. Uninstall module with the "Uninstall" button (not visible for active modules) in "Action" column.
3. Delete files from server ...

Sure do. Please download the Guide to Essential XOOPS modules. Please note that this is a draft document that will be put out for community input shortly, but it should give you a starting point.
