Hum... fantastico

Do you have any idea what version of XOOPS that fantastico installed?

I ask this because the version I have on my server is
Description: (v2.2.3a-Final)

Which is no longer recomended.

I think you should start all over again. Do not use fantastico!!! Just install XOOPS from the package you download from here.

If you have alot of data then by all means back up you database first.

If you need help to install fresh just ask...

Hi script_fu, thanks for your reply

Fantastico... uhmmm... yeah, I agree, never again.

When I look at the bottom of my homepage, at the footer message, it says powered by XOOPS 2.0.16

If I need to redo everything, I will surely call for help, as I am a novice.

The version of XOOPS doesn't matter, because its not XOOPS thats returning the 403 forbidden message, its Apache.

Normally, the "You don't have permission to access /tuis/modules/newbb/post.php on this server" message means that the file is chmod'ed (file permissions) to 0640 or something like that. Just to be thorough, verify that the file is chmod'ed 0644, otherwise known as rw-r--r--

Well sounds that way but kraai says that "everything works' fine when you dont use that word? Correct?

He has hose something im sure it has nothing to do with chmod...

Edit: spelling issue's

ewonline

The permissions to the file /post.php is set to 7 5 5 and I read on my ftp flag this: rwxr-xr-x

Thats fine, although its not recommended to set it with execute permissions, unless your using some sort of php suexec that needs it that way.

ewonline, so should I leave the permissions as is on 7 5 5?

I have sent a querie to my host in the meantime, awaiting response, and also refered them to this thread.

Any other ideas?

Hi,

403 may be given by mod_sec as was suggested. You may check this in mod_sec log file if you have access to it (and if it is set to log).

I did a search and one of the things that came up is this:
http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=553685&hilit=

so mod_sec may be your problem ...

Well I stand corrected, what a nice piece of detective work! I must say ewonline and you were spot on after reading all the posts on phpbb.

Thats just plain crazy about the psy issues. Go figure...

Hi Stefan, and thanks so much.

Thank you also everyone that is willing to help me with this, it is much appreciated.

I am currently in contact with my host, to see about the mod_sec settings, and will keep you all up to date as soon as I have something to report back from my host.

On my controll panel, I have access to a folder called "mod" and inside this folder, there is a file called "security.php" and this file is editable, but me being a novice with script, I would not dare.
