Re: disable imagemanager

I believe users cannot see the button if it is unchecked.

Have you logged off and looked at what the unregistered can get to.

In my case I have thought that users could get to areas that I was accessing, then after closing the browser and being logged off I found that users did not see those buttons.

If you haven't you might check that again.

Unless you start hacking core files, the best way to control the use of the imagemanager is with the imagemanager admin - the categories each have group controls over upload and use of each category. If the group does not have any category they can use, then the imagemanager will not display any images for them to use.

The insert image button, on the other hand, is one I wish we had more control over - it allows users to specify a url for an image from anywhere online.

Even if you are able to hack and remove the button, you need to edit the textsanitizer so people cannot use the xoopscode to insert images. Most experienced users type the codes instead of using the toolbar. And scripts targeting sites will also send the codes instead of using the toolbar.

You can change the look of the imagemanager by editing YOUR_XOOPS_ROOT/modules/system/templates/system_imagemanager.html

Re: disable imagemanager

Right Click on your image manager button.
Read the properties, and find out where it is stored on your site.

In my case it is stored in a subdirectory called images and the filename is image.gif

http://upnrunnin.hypermart.net/xoops02/images/image.gif

Rename it imagebac.gif and then use a transparent blank gif file, same size in its place.

It won't be visible but as admin, you will know it is there.

good luck
