XOOPS has a private messaging system as part of the core (system module) nothing else is required for it to work

XOOPS 2.0.1.x does not have administrating options for private messages.

You can check THIS news article here on xoops.org for an alternative PM module

Please note - although this is a very good module (I'm pleased to have helped a little with language files ) - it does involve a couple of hacks, and may clash with a couple of other modules.

However - it is under development, so if you have any problems with this - please make sure you inform the author so he can improve for the next release.

Thanks dudes. Hey, I tried downloading that great module you linked to, but it still says module not found. arrrggh..
And the core system PM is not working, when you click on PM you get an "error on page" at the bottom left side.

hi there... sorry to sound dumb... but i can't work out how to find someone to send a pm to him or her! i had the same problem on another XOOPS site where i was told to contact someone via pm. how do you do it? what needs to be showing to get a list of users and then pm someone?

thanks for your help if you don't mind helping a newbie.

Generally, if you click on the user's name or user's pic, you will be redirected to their profile page.

e.g. if you try clicking my icon in left, you can actually goto my profile (which can be found here https://xoops.org/userinfo.php?uid=52527). On that page you will see a PM button. Click on that to write a pm.

I'm having this same problem with core system PM's. Is there a way to fix this "error on page" thing? Anyone know what causes it?
