Errors Returned While Uploading
Unknown filetype rejected
MIME type not allowed: image/pjpeg

Its just the usual .jpg but opens in Kodak easy share. Does this effect the image?

***Resolved I do not know why Pshop changed things, or it could have been Kodak. Anyway the file type seemed to be pjpeg..lmaoooooooo but I did'nt name it that extention. I then had a free software come with my scanner and used that to save. Now all is fine.***

image/jpeg -> standard JPEG image file
image/pjpeg -> progressive JPEG image file

the difference between this two mimetypes is that the standard JPEG files contain a series of full resolution chunks of the image and the progressive files contain multiple copies of the image, each copy at an higher resolution than the previous one.

so... the two mimetypes are internally completely differents...

i suggest you to convert your avatar from pjpeg to jpeg with a photo editor (ex. TheGimp)

Yea I did that,

I have to say I never even heard of pjeg...lololol First time I encountered that extention.

I did put a 'resolved' in my post as I did what you said, before hand.

I'm having problems up loading pictures from my computer into XOOPS. I get the following message :-

Errors Returned While Uploading
Unknown filetype rejected
MIME type not allowed: image/pjpeg

my pictures are jpeg - ??? what is pjpeg ??? How can I fix it I'm lost! HELP PLEASE - I'm in the dummy classification as to computers (Know very little)

I started getting this error after changing hosting companies.

poo

I have no idea is the problem was caused by my migration process or by the hosting company but I suspect by the hosting company because I can upload anything via the admin console.

Any ideas from any one?

Well,

There was one other variable I hadn't counted on. I was using jpg's generated by Photoshop. I haven't nutted out the technical differences (and don't frankly care) but a JPG created by MSPaint works fine :)
