where do i put the avatars

im trying to put my avatars on my site so my members can use them where is the folder located thanks

yoursite/administration menu/system/avatars

When you add them they are placed in the yoursite/uploads folder, usualy looking something like this for system avatar: savt56904ge5bfd3b.gif

You could also do a search on this site for Avatars and find a module for avatar managing which may help especially if you have a lot of them.

Someone have a clue why i suddently can't change my avatars anymore on my site?

Uploading works but changing an avatar from the site list, doesn't work, but he say. 'your profile is update correctly' :s

But the avatar is'n changed ...

Someone have a clue, i already uploade the avatar map, into modules/system/admin/avatar ...

All the avatars are in thehttp://yoursite.com/uploads/ folder.
They have names like cavt45fce2ddc9b21.jpg.

You should add avatars using the admin avatar manager. Go to admin and in the system menu choose avatar.

You should know it is not secure to use XOOPS avatars.
Xoops.org remove this user feature to secure this site.
This vulnerability could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on a vulnerable system by introducing a specially crafted image.

Yet more rubbish from you worded in such a way as to make it seem like fact. Why do you keep spouting such drivel?

It is NOT unsafe to use avatars per se, as there is nothing wrong with allowing users to choose from avatars that are made available by admin or allowing users to link to offsite avatars.

However, it can be risky allowing users to upload their own avatars in the same way that it can be risky allowing users to upload anything. Being fair to xguide, I suspect that this is what was being referred to in the statement above.

you keep posting these security vulnerabilities all of a sudden? why?

at least get your facts in order beforehand.

xoops.org does not allow avatar uploads simply because yes there is/was a vulnerability and be aware that xoops.org is still using an OLDER XOOPS version, the vulnerability does not exist in XOOPS 2.0.16. XOOPS avatars will be allowed when the new site is ready and the whole site is moved to a newer more secured server!!

if you have proof to the contrary, then post the proof, if not shut up going on about it.

and can I ask you another question? Do you use XOOPS or do you use XOOPS Cube?
