I have copied an rss link and paste it in my new section. Its only showing the copied text. How do I get it to actually work?

You can't just copy the RSS link into a block and get an RSS feed on your site. You will need to install a module that parses RSS feeds and then formats them for display. Try something like GIJOE's xhld module. You can download it here. Once you install the module you'll need to go to your Admin panel and configure it to include the news feed you want...

I have installed the module and I get this error
Failed saving data to database for headline Eonline
Could not open file: http://www.eonline.com/syndication/feeds/rssfeeds/topstories.xml
Snoopy status=connection failed (13)

Can someone explain how to resolve this.

try planet module. download at :

The read me text is telling me something about frame work. Please advise.

1 Download this file : https://xoops.org.cn/modules/wfdownloads/visit.php?lid=471
2 unzip it
3 upload the folder Frameworks to your XOOPS folder.

That's all.
