Best way to add static text on home page?

I was trying to figure out what the best way to add some static text on the front page. Mostly like an introduction. I was thinking about just creating a block however the block doesn't have a WYSIWYG editor.

In PHPNuke there was a special Messages module.

What would you recommend?

You could always use "Pages" - which can be found at http://www.frxoops.org - this is an updated version of the old wf-channel module, with a WYSIWYG styled editor.

It will also allow you to create other pages of information for stand-alone purposes as well.

You could just use a custom block and any one of the formatting options.

but there is no specific module similar to the PHPNuke Messages which automatically adds stuff to your page.

If not I think I'll be going with a custom module.

Thanks for the info.

I would suggest the pico module. It has a feature of a cloneable content block. You create the content with pico and place it anywhere you want with the block controls.

I would suggest dhinfo 2.01:

* unlimited pages
* unlimited sub-pages
* unlimited sub-menues (also sub-sub-menues)
* display in main-menue or in separate menue-block
* page can be displayed where you want as a block
* WYSWIG-support
* access-permission for every single page
* category overview
* sub-menues dynamic or static
* including of scripts into the text
* including of external files into the template of XOOPS (header + footer + blocks)
* cloneable through renaming (just 3 files have to renamed)
* permissions on creating/editing contents

Google Translation works well with French.
