Bill,

I wondered about this too, but her only post is legitimate. It's possible that she just has XOOPS loaded up in her browser and hasn't closed it for days. I'm guilty of doing this myself.

I'll give it a couple more days. If she doesn't log out and doesn't post anymore activity, I'll clear the session table when nobody else is logged in.

Thanks!

JM

But Xoops.org should log you out automatically, surely? I thought you had to be 'active', i.e. browsing, searching, posting etc. to stay logged in.

There are browser plugins that will refresh a page at a set interval. One such plugin is "Reload Every" for Firefox. This would keep the user's session active.

That's really annoying. Would nibble away at your bandwidth too. Can 'real' activity not be detected?.

Why not contacting this person by email or msnm (oshelpers@hotmail.com)?

@JMorris
Thx for the info about the plugin. I'm updating my Acceptable Use Policy to prohibit users from staying logged in using automated methods.

Wasn't there a serious problem some time ago with an IE feature that enabled people to download/mirror the entire Xoops.org site? I need to include that in the AUP too, but can't remember what it was called.

I'm attempting to contact the user via Instant Messenger. If there is no response by this evening, I will clear the session table when no other users are logged in.

Thanks for reporting this!

EDIT: Issue resolved.
