I have been having a lot of fun with XOOPS and learning a ton. I have aquired a few Mods that I want to remove/delete and before I make some major mistake I wanted to check.

I was thinking of simply deleting the Mod folder from the server then deleting the tables related to them in the db. Can this cause me any headaches or is there a better way?

Thanks mucho,

Steve

You'd be better following the information here:

2.11.4.1. Deactivating and uninstalling a module

Go into your administration:

System - modules:
- uncheck the module and submit
- now press the uninstall button behind the now inactive module

This will delete all database stuff including permissions which you would not delete if you manually remove only the modules tables.

Then you can delete the files.
Sorry, this signature is experiencing technical difficulties. We will return you to the sheduled signature as soon as possible ...

Thanks for the info. I knew there was an article somewhere I just couldn't find it.

There is so much good information on this site. My search skills must be really poor cause I always have a hard time finding what I'm looking for then a user will just instantly throw up a link.

Thanks for the help,

Steve

Ok, I accidentally deleted the module from the server. I uploaded the files again to follow the steps to de-activated and un-install. It confirms module was de=activated but when try to un-install the page goes blank.

Is there a way to manually remove the module so I can make a fresh install of the module?
