ok, started a new topic :). Didn't know it was that important! I am trying to find a blog module that is designed for XOOPS 2.0.16, or will at least work with it.

I am trying to get a multi user blog if possible. I am checking out weblog, but does anyone know if wordexpress is multi-user and if it works with XOOPS 2.0.16? I tried installing it, but it does not function.

I added it under modules, but then when I "install" it, instead of getting the list of installed materials, I get a blank screen. If I then go back a page, and then click on modules, it shows up as installed. Yet nothing on it works. Maybe I just got a bad download?

Anyone know if it works with 2.016, and if it is multi-user? If not anyone know of a really great blog module that fits with you web theme and such?

I get the same thing. And I've been unable to find a blog to put on the site. It seems like no one answers these calls for help either. :(

I don't know about multiple blogs, but I am using wordpress ME 0.33 on a site and it works fine. It supports multiple users on the same blog, but not multiple blogs. I set it up but am not the person using it, but have heard no complaints from the user.

PS I am using 2.0.16

The latest version of the Wordpress Blog module for XOOPS (version 2.04) is supposed to be a true Multi-user Blog with multiple Blogs. However, it is important to note that this is a "hacked" version of Wordpress to introduce multi-blog functionality.

If you are having trouble getting the latest Wordpress module to work, I would recommend posting your question on phppp's support site for his modules (http://www.xoopsforge.com/). phppp is generally very good about providing support for his modules, so you'll likely get better support directly from his site.

Now, with that said, what solution you choose will directly depend on what functionality you wish to have. If your primary objective is to provide free Blogs to your members and there are few other XOOPS-specific features you need, then you might be happier using Wordpress MU. There are several "plug-ins" available for Wordpress MU that would allow you to run a forum, downloads section, links section, and other generic functionality that is available in XOOPS.

However, if you have a well established XOOPS site that uses many XOOPS-specific modules, then I highly recommend the Wordpress module from phppp.

I definitely don't recommend Wordpress ME 0.33. I manage a couple sites that use that module and the anti-spam features are non-existent. I actually had to hack the code to remove trackback functionality because of all the trackback spam I was getting. The Wordpress module is compatible with anti-spam plug-ins freely available from the Wordpress community.

HTH.

As far as I know the XOOPS version doesn't have multiple blogs, just multiple users.
Wordpress mu has separated users AND blogs.
Or did I miss something?

Wordpress MU is much more seperated than xPress MU, but xPress MU has basic multiple blog support by seperating content by authors.

phppp's site demonstrates this at http://xoopsforge.com/modules/wordpress/
