I'm considering changing my site over to xoops, but need to know, is there a way to have admin registration approval? I recently got hit with spam at my homepage and want to control who I allow as a member.

There are 3 ways of registration XOOPS permits:

-Automatic activation, when account is ready2use after pressing button at the end of the registration process

-Administrator's activation, when account is activated after account is reviewed by an admin

-Activation by e-mail, when a user receives an e-mail with an unique activation key

PS: there is no need to double-post...once you pressed button "submit" you can be 100% sure your post was received even if sometime it takes longer for the page to reload

I am sorry about that But thanks for the reply. I'm using phpnuke now and really have enjoyed it, but it seems so hard to find modules I want to do the things I need lately. xoop looks very similar and hoping the install of such modules will be easier to install!

The new XoopsCare module should be handy for stopping naughty spammers.

(I've removed the double post for you)

That's funny. I was replying to the other post (hadn't seen this one yet) just as you were deleting it. I submitted and then got a couple of messages about not being able to access the post!

Oh well, the problem of people trying to quickly answer every doubled post on the forum is much better than them sitting dormant! :)
