Can anyone help us find a suitable module for a People Directory.

We would need a searchable directory of personnel for a historical site.

Name, Category, Date of Birth, Date Died, a text area for some history on the person and a mugshot photo.

The closest we have found is Alumni...which looks very promising, but will require some modifications to the data fields...the presentation is good, though.

Any other candidates out there?

You might try xyp4all - it's not exactly what you want but it's along the same lines as a directory.

You may check out some of the other directory modules - one of them may be closer to what you're looking for - perhaps xdirectory, mxdirectory.

Thansk for the suggestion...we just found that one moments ago.

So far the Alumni looks closest..
..we may just have to modify the language file(s) to make it suitable, Plugging away at that now.

Still open to alternatives...

We are using the Alumni module for this application; it works very well for this.

We listed all the fields and made a proposed "cross-reference" to rename them for our People book application.

Once we were satisfied, we copied and edited the language file, adding a sequential number in front of every "phrase" in the file.
Then ran the program, noting the number of each terms we needed to change. A quick edit to those terms in the final language file made the program work with all our terminology.
