What problems did you have with the different link modules?

What version of WF-Links did you try?
Did you try the original version 1.03 which contains a couple of bugs, or one of the 'bug-free' versions 1.03b or 1.03c?
I use WF-Links 1.03c on my website and it runs stable.
You can download the versions 1.03b and 1.03c here:http://members.lycos.nl/mcdonaldsstore/

Re: What Links directory/ listing module is stable and functioning

i believe i have had a turn with each of those over the while..

its been cumulative ..i got dizzy after a while from reading posts in module TS section and comments in the module review section...

it seems perhaps the module repository could be maintained a little better with current 2.0.16 modules and other modules not compatibible with the rev in some archive, not clutter up the place...

regardless..up way too late tonite and i grab xdirectory 1.1, upload and it installs without a hitch... over the past 2 months i have wrestled with the beast and now its like a knife thru butter..

so far so good...thanx for the quick response

You could try weblinks or mxdirectory - both are working well for me. You can see them in action over here (the contact and project directories).

Not really sure how the module permissions work with MX directory - I can't get the "modify this listing" link to go away.

I only want the admin or the registered member who "authored" the listing to be able to modify that particular listing. As I have it now it seems that anyone could modify anyone else's listing. I tried every different permission configuration and nothing seems to work. Anyone able to help???

Also if I could go further and ask a few more questions?

Has anyone fixed the upload jpg logo problems? I get an error for jpg files only.

and - any way to get the listing to link to the author members profile??

and lastly - anyone know how to make modified listings NOT need admin approval?

Thanks everyone for your help!
