ive never had a CMS i couldnt figure out
til now
ive been using postnuke, and i have to say, its more user friendly then xoops
i cant figure out how to post news
and have it show up on the front page
how gay is that?
i post news and it doesnt show up anywhere except the news page...i want the news on the front page
im using the news mod cuz i was told it was the best
i have made topics for the news
just cant get it to show up on the front page

That because its content management here...

You place blocks where you need things...
Go to blocks admin menu and there choose to place blocks for News on the front page...
you may also want to check that Guest are given permission to the diffrent blocks, if you want them showing....

There are probably no more than 50 ways to do what you want.
You can try using the Headlines, Spotlight, or Articles modules. Any of these ought to do what you want. There are other modules as well... I just can't remember them all.
