Hi everyone,

i just want to know whats the difference wbetween newbb and cbb?

I have installed newbb and i can see that there is a cbb forum modules.

newbb is the name of previous versions of XOOPS forum and now it is such a very old module.

CBB (Community Bulletin Board) is the name of Newest version of XOOPS forum based on Newbb and developed by phppp(he was a developer of Newbb too).it keeps on "newbb" directory.

we highly recommend every one to install CBB or update newbb to cbb.

download last version (Cbb 3.0.7),send bugs - features in the main project:

Thanks, I didn't know I'm using an out of date newbb module.

I will update my forum now.

Make sure you follow the notes about the Frameworks folder carefully

What forum version is this site (Xoops) using? the old one?

I believe this is NewBB 2, with a small hack that allows you to copy a post URL by selecting the #6 in the top right of each post. That feature isn't standard with newBB, but is with CBB.

I don't think there is anything 'wrong' with NewBB - otherwise I'm sure it wouldn't be used here on Xoops.org. CBB potentially offers more features.
