Actually

I uninstalled IE 7 and went back to my old version of IE and it doesnt sqaush the left and right blocks so much.

it does a little but it doesnt cause the text to overlap . So i think there is something buggy with IE 7.

that browser blows big time. It would always hang up on me or not allow me to log into my cpanel telling me the certificate was invalid.

blah

screw ie 7

Your forum problem is caused by the blue selection boxes. Upgrade your newbb to CBB3 and you probably won't have any problems.

Thanks everyone. I installed the cbb 3.7 along with the xoopseditor and the frame works.

everything seems to be working. ONly problem is when i go into the cbb admin panel to edit or create a category. I click the create or edit button then it just shows up a blank page. There is nothing to edit .

Also sometimes not all the time but sometimes I click on that TEST message and it just takes me to a blank page . Not all the time does that happen though.

any ideas?

because if i dont get it fixed today I might have to just not use xoops. If its gonna be like this Ill just use phpbb with ez portal or something.

did you read cbb installation guide carefully?

Yes i followed the instructions.

when i got to edit forum or create category or edit catergory it just loads a blank page. (well its not blank completely) it still has the tabs up top but there is no EDIT or CREATE stuff down there.

Now if there is something i missed in the instructions I dont know what it is.

perhaps someone could drop me a clue what to look for with this type of problem.

Going back and re-reading and re-intalling over and over again has been fruitless thus far.

Does anyone have a specific clue as to what i need to be looking at? did i miss something?*

Ok -Here are some things to try

Can you check your admin/groups/permissions and make sure you actually have permission to access the forum blocks?

Check the FAQ section on blank pages and see if there is nothing there that might help.

Finally - when things sometimes appear and sometimes do not often doing a 'repair' on the sessions table does the trick. Go to you sites phpmyadmin, find the XOOPS sessions table and click repair. See if that makes a difference.

If none of this helps It is time to check your debug messages -Turn on inline debug and press 'all' and see what it says - looking for php errors and warnings. Follow the directions in the read before you post below in my signature to insert the debug message so we can see if there is a clue in there.

Good luck
