DokuWiki 2.01 "strangeness"

Hi all,

Please could I trouble you for some help?

I've installed DokuWiki 2.01 on my embrionic site

DokuWiki seems to work as it should other than some strange/quirky behaviour.........see the screen-grab below:

Resized Image

1. The buttons are not as they should be
2. the word start is half-covered

If I refresh the screen I get this:

Resized Image

1. the correct buttons
2. start still half covered.

Can anyone tell me why I'm seeing the strange button behaviour and how I sort out the half-covered word?

I've re-uploaded the module and updated it and cleared my browser's cache twice. The site is on XOOPS 2.0.16 and I'm running WinXP SP2 and IE6.

Many thanks

No replies and I couldn't fix it either

Dokuwiki consigned to the bin and going with Wiwimod instead....looks like it's easier to the novice user, too.

Thanks anyway.

Just want you to know you are not on your own..I couldn't get dokuwiki to function properly either...but that was two XOOPS versions ago

It worked fine other than the two minor display issues.

Shame I didn't have the time/knowledge to sort them out.

May be because you use IE
it's not only a joke, because when i was using firefox, everything seemed allright (about twenty buttons when editing the source) and with IE only ... two, B and I !!!
And my visitors are going to use mainly IE !

The page name link at the top of DokuWiki looks a bit naff even when you can see all of it (IMHO). It's not actually as fundamental to navigation as it looks... so I killed it. You may prefer to tweak the CSS entries to get it looking right.

dokuwiki/lib/tpl/default/layout.css

/* pk Sorry, hate it so I killed it ------------- */

.pagename {
displaynone;
floatleft}

/* .pagename {                      */
/*      float:left;                 */
/*      font-size:100%;             */
/*        font-weight: normal;      */
/*        color:#bbbbbb;            */
/*        text-align:left;          */
/*        vertical-align:middle;    */
/*        padding: 1px 0 5px 1px;   */
/*        line-height: 120%;        */
/*}                                 */

/* .pagename a:link, .pagename a:visited { */
/*  color: #cccccc;                        */
/*  text-decoration: none;                 */
/* }                                       */

/* .pagename a:hover, .pagename a:active { */
/*  color:#FF9933;                         */
/* }                                       */

/* ----------------------------------------*/

If everything else worked for you I would persevere. It is an excellent WIKI. Search this forum for more comments.

@phalcon

I confess I had a few problems myself. A quick search of this forum will reveal any posts I made at the time if they are of any help.

The Xoops-DokuWiki developer (phppp) does keep an eye on this forum, so the best bet to resolve specific probs is to post in 'module troubleshooting'.

As always, XOOPS version, PHP and MySQL versions, 'register_globals' and 'safe_mode' settings can all make a module work for one person and fail for another, so provide as much info as you can.

Doncha just hate that?

I've seen it before with directories created by scripts. The good news is that although they won't delete they will move. I move all such directories (when I'm sure that they are unwanted!) to a directory I made called "dump" in the root directory. I ask the hosting company to delete the directory from time to time.

I've deactivated/uninstalled Dokuwiki and gone over to Wiwimod. Much easier for novices to use. Shame about the name and having Noddy on the icon coz its much better than that

Thanks for the help, one and all.
