is there a way to make XOOPS search through pdf files?
i have too many (about +200) pdf files and want to upload them somewhere so anyone can search them via XOOPS search.
is this possible?

I can think of 2 possibilities that could help since i don;t think XOOPS search would serch the pdf's

1. use smart seection and write a short introductory article which inludes the key words that would bring up the topic on a search

2. try adding a google search block to your site - Often see google searches on websites - would take a bit of research to find out how. Check this news post

for Number 2 can i have a Google search just from the site inside site theme?
i want it like to be inside the site anyway.
is there module for it or code? i do some search in forums but don't find a proper result

Swish-e can search pdf's. I have it integrated into a XOOPS module for searching, but the module is not in a form that's easily publishable.

The Document Management System module also supports Swish-E, though I haven't tried it myself.

i attempt to download swish-e and install it but it seems tar file is corrupted.
i cant open tar file after download:
swish-e-2.4.4.tar.gz

I just downloaded that file, and it seems ok. Try downloading it again.

I don't think the module's ready for public release, but I'll if I can put together some documentation on how the swish-e integration is done.
