Dear people,

I have om both of my sites WF Sections 2.06 running. Great module !!
However: As far as I can see (browsed through this and other XOOPS related sites for a few days now) WF Sections is no longer maintained/updated.

My questions:

1) Can this become a security issue at some moment?
2) Can this become a compatibilty issue at some moment?
3) Is there a way to 'upgrade' to the articles module (for example) and 'import' all my 150 plus articles from WF Sections in articles?
4) Any other suggestions for a replacement of WF Sections?

Thx in advance and greetings,

Best suggestion would be SmartSection (www.smartfactory.ca - although I may be biased on this ), or Article (www.xoopsforge.com) - although there are other good "section" type modules about.

Thx David,

So you do advice an update/upgrade/switch to one of these modules?

Grtz,

Big problem would be importing the data.

I know that SmartSection had an import script for the old version one wf-section... but not the newer version

I don't think Articles has an import.

There are people who are able to write conversion scripts for these - and if anyone is willing to, it would be a great benefit indeed to many users...

(There's also Magazine - which actually started out life as wf-section 2.08 - but it's not so regularly updated... nice, if slightly unusual, module... but a script would be needed again...)

(Standard advice of testing any conversions locally on your system with a copy is obvious of course...)

I use WF-Section 2.07b3 on XOOPS 2.0.13.2. With related articles, related links, related downloads, title and subheading based page-breaks and the author-bio block, it still gets my vote. SmartSection would be my second choice.
A thread is for life. Not just for Christmas.

I really like WF Sections, so I don't want to get rid of it; just anticipating the expected future.
Perhaps I'll ask at the Smart section site if they still have that import script.

And off course David: thorough testing locally or in a backup will be done!!

Thx for your replies and grtz,
