I seen there was a release of Xoops 2.2.5-rc2 on 11/3/06 but didnt find any news or info on it.

I am using 2.2.4, do I need to upgrade. Whats been upgraded or changed?

Yes, that's because it's a RC, and is intended for testing purposes only.

It didnt appear as though there were any security issues that were fixed in the changelog so I guess my question is, if I haven't experienced any fixed problems mentioned in the changelog with 2.2.4, is it necessary to upgrade on final release? Or should I say recommended rather than necessary. I hate to try an upgrade and screw everything up, lol. I tend to have a habbit of that, LOL.

Skalpa says;

The release of XOOPS 2.0.16 and 2.2.5 is scheduled for November 8th, and November 14th.

These are the last planned maintenance releases on both of these branches, and development efforts will be focused on the 2.3 trunk from now on.

People interested can already download 2.2.5-rc2 for testing purposes on sourceforge.

If you do want to contribute to testing this release, please feel free to install it on a test site...

Any idea if next release will have the bottom-center blocks?...They should have been in this one as it was released after 2.0.15 loong time after 2.0.15

No. 2.2.5 will not have this feature.

You will need to move to 2.0.15, or wait till 2.4
