Help!!!!
I think I did something stupid.

I was testing some new themes, and I had XOOPS set to give me the theme chooser option on the main page. One of the themes I tried (bizlook_v1_2.0.14.zip) turned out not to have ANY menus. None, nada, not a thing. Top, bottom, left, or right. I had the admin panel opened in another screen, so I went back into admin, made it not one of the choosable themes, and changed the default theme. Then I tried to refresh the home page. Again, nothing. Still the same theme.

I closed all the windows, cleared the tmp and template_c subdirectories, and deleted the offending theme from the themes subdirectory.

Now when I launch XOOPs all I get is a blank screen.

How can I fix this? I've spend weeks building my site.

Thanks
Frank

Use phpMyAdmin and look for the table ..._config
Use the Browse tab to have a look at this table.
In this table you'll find 'theme_set' in the column conf_name.
Edit the row containing 'theme_set', type another theme title in the box and click the Go-button.

You're a Great Man McDonald!

Thanks for the help! I was starting to panic as I saw several weeks of work swirling around the toilet rim.

WAIT!!! That didn't fix it.

It gives me the theme, until I log in. Then it's the blank screen again, right after it thanks me for logging in.

you my try to clear cookies, or try to log in with different browser.

if that did not help, upload the bad theme again but replace the theme files with files from a theme that works (default for example)
..

You probably have to delete the files in the folders cache and template_c (except index.html) before it works again.
Also clearing your browser cache might be needed.

No, nothing seems to work. As soon as I log in I go to a blank screen.

I have a thought.

Any core changes I made I can identify because I made backup files of the originals. And of course, all the modules I installed, as well as all the content I created is still in their respective subdirectories.

If I go in and backup all the changed core files, reinstall xoops, reinstall the changed core files, and just reinstall all the modules from the modules page, the content should still be there shouldnt it?

Did all that McDonald. Still nothing. As soon as I log in I get a blank screen, with the urlhttp://localhost/xoops/ in the addressbar.

It gives you the same theme because it remembered what was your last choice and clearing the browser's cache would have been enough, you can try a bit crazy thing... get the XOOPS default theme and edit the "theme.html" file replacing the "default" word in it used in the line that includes the block files
Example: <{include file="default/theme_blockcenter_c.html"}>

becomes <{include file="faulty_theme/theme_blockcenter_c.html"}>

where "faulty_theme" is the name of the theme giving you the trouble, then overwrite the faulty files from your themes directory on the server , delete files from templates_c directory (except index.html) and it should work
Everything I'm not made me everything I am
The Themes
