hi, I'm new to XOOPS and beg your indulgence.
I'd like to replace the XOOPS banner at the top of my site with
the one that I'd prefer. This doesn't mean that I won't credit
xoops with all kinds of thanks within the pages, just that I want
my users to realize where they're going. The banner option in the
admin interface doesn't seem to work, (i realize that is an inscrutable
statement; more info on request) ... but I'm so new to XOOPS that I would like
some guidance, on that and also on creating new newsgroups.

banner doesn't work? works fine for me..

are you confusing the banner with the logo?

a banner is like an advert that you click..

a logo is an image.. in case of XOOPS the logo image is the 1 that says XOOPS just use it at the top left of the header..

i suggest reading the FAQ section on editing themes.
