Can someone suggest a good forum module for XOOPS 2.0.15 beside the one that comes with the installation?

Many thanks!

Actually no forum comes with a standard XOOPS installation (on new releases).

The best one is the native XOOPS code CBB - currently on version 3.06 - and available from dev.xoops.org

(Phpbb and others are available from http://www.bbpixel.com - but as they require a hack to work, which makes upgrading XOOPS and the module more difficult - I don't advise these as being suitable for everyone)

Thanks david12.

Is CBB 3.06 compatible with XOOPS 2.0.15 ?

I took the risk to install it.

Here are the 2 preliminary bugs.

The folder "uploads/newbb" became a 550 -
therefore the folder "thumbs" cannot be created
under "uploads/newbb".

My server has the safe mode (php.ini) off and yet I got this
strange settings.

Also, the smilies are not smiling again as in Forum version 1, very unlike what I can do HERE !

Generally a lot better than version 1.
Thanks for recommending!

In case there is another newbie attempting to install
CBB 3.06

I did a little trick in the Forum's Preferences and change
the folder to upload\forum\thumbs
But I manually created it using FTP client beforehand
and set to 777.

Yes! All the attached images are uploaded!

But I don't seemed to be able to delete that 550
folder created during the installation.
Anyone got this problem?

NOTE:
The smilies are not working only in DHTML Form with xCode.
The rest of the editors are OK.

The folders shouldn't be created by installation.
Perhaps I forgot to remove related scripts after some test?

Many thanks phppp. 3.0.6 is fantastic!
The features there are as good if not better than
some of commercial BBs. Examples are the editors,
the multiple image attachments, print to PDF, email, etc. etc.

There another pretty important "bug".
Is the webmaster, registered users and anonymous
group permissions.

The permission cannot be set no matter how I configure
in the Permissions Tab.

I have tried it very thoroughly and still the forum
refuses to set the permission to the various groups.

During installation - no error and when running the forum
no error messages found. The first default forum post
was something like "Your forum is operating OK".
