I use XOOPS for an intra-/ extranet site in a care institution. I can't find a good employee directory for what I want to do with it. I use Xyp4all at the moment but it misses a lot of features. A usefull employee directory should have following features:

* Uses the XOOPS userbase for primary user details.
* Has the ability to group employees in departments.
* Employees can be grouped in more departments in case of different jobs.
* There is a searchable phone directory using the names and phonenumbers from the employee directory.

And there are more options it could incorporate to make XOOPS a more intranet friendly cms. Who dares to take up the glove?

I have a *complete* addressing module lined up for development after the next version of ModGen if that's any help. It's the last step prior to commencement of a large project aimed at providing CRM facilities for Xoops

However, in the meantime you could move to XOOPS 2.2.4 It has user (admin) defineable user profiles in addition to the group membership and search features that any XOOPS install has.
