I like much information portals like yours
I don't like the pink bar, maybe something in between white - blue - grey could work better as I see it...maybe you want contrast..so a somewhat yellowish - orange- khaki color could be too.
The links, most of them, I don't know what is happening, they are opening in new window all of them it seems? I have 20 windows in my bar and am confused... can't they open in the same window?
btw, the speed is ok, am downloading at the worst speed ever, 20K, and it's ok, at least for me.
