Hi all

I set a new group I called "Editors"


this group has only one member who is also a member of registered users

I gave this group permissions to access the BLOCKS admin (from system admin), and the News module admin (News 1.21) .

I want this user to be able to add articles..etc..

The user can access the admin area, and can enter the news module admin area, but after filling in the fields, and clicking "Submit" to submit the article, it says that he's not authorised to enter this area. !!!

I tried to check the permissions from inside Preferences of the news modules, i clicked "all" in all categories for Administrators and Editors .

Thing to say: whenever i go to the permissions inside Preferences of the news modules, nothing is clicked, its like no one has permission. ! but maybe its a module thing.

Can I alter the permissions manually from phpMyAdmin ?

I vaguley remember reading somewhere - but I couldn't find it that this may be a problem of your editor neing in 2 groups...you could try removing them from registered user group - but before you do make sure thay have all the permissions a registered user does. Hopr this helps and I am sure someone will correct me if I am leading you up the wrong path here.

The problem is persistant in News 1.2.1, it has been experienced by some users. It might also cause your articles not to be shown. Which means that only the Administrator could deal with it.

The solution to this problem is to upgrade to the latest version.
