Can not connect to database server

I am sur ethis has been beat about for ever, but I am getting this error when I try to install xoops. Any Ideas how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

locally hosted
This is a Win2K server with IIS
Mysql 5.0

USE APACHE WEB SERVER! and try to user MySQL 4.

We use IIS web servers on all our servers and it is supposed to run on IIS. I just downgraded the MySql to 3.23.58 version and I get the same result.

Still looking for some assistance

You could try a search on IIS - it is mentioned in other posts and in some FAQ's.

Make sure servername, user and password for the sql server are ok.

For testing:
Use any other sql tool you have to see if the data you enter into XOOPS works for that tool.
