about changing themes... i can't get into my site so i can't change the theme. i can ftp into it though. i have a backup that i can reinstall but i don't won't to have to do that.
Sure you can:
Lets say your folder structure is
/themes/default
/themes/yourtheme
1. rename the folder yourtheme to yourtheme2
2. rename the folder default to yourtheme
You can easily revert this later and XOOPS will use the default theme.
(another way would be to change it in the db but i would have to look that up and am too lazy right now)
Clean out rootdir\templates_c though.
Also:
- empty the sessions table in the database
- if nothing helps try to remove protector from the mainfile and see how that goes
