I want a block that will do what the recent post block does from the newbb forum module. The recent post block shows x number of the newest post. I want a similar thing but only have it display from a designated forum. I want to have an announcement forum and everytime I post a thread in that forum I want it to show up in a block on my homepage in the format:

+-----------------------------+
| Title and Poster Name
+-----------------------------+
| The actual post (the body)
+-----------------------------+

Is there already a block or module that can do this? If not does anyone know how to do this?

I don't know much about it but whatsnew module may help you.

I know that the Recent Topic block in CBB has the ability to display topics from a designated forum(s).

Look at there news and announcements. That is populated from a speccific forum called announcements. Yes, they use vBulletin which has easy configuration to do that but vBulletin is $160.00

I'm wanting to do just about the same thing.

You could try editing the Recent Posts or Recent Topics blcocks to just show the selected forums, BUT on mine, it's not saving the changes.

Can someone help with block changes not saving? Then we might have this solved...
