realname/username in wordpress 2.04

I want to change the setting of wordpress 2.04, to display my username / nickname only, but it always show my realname, how ?
the error is shown that:
ERROR: This username is invalid. Please enter a valid username.

Do you mean Wordpress within Xoops or just the Wordpress application itself? If the later you'd probably find more support at www.wordpress.org in the support forums.
