i'm using localhost to do testing and my URL is

http://localhost/xoopforum/

the NIS doesnt not recongize this. however, it does recongize http://localhost. so i set that as one of my web connections, or i have to turn off NIS everytime i test XOOPS. any ideas?way to aviod NIS blocking?

I have to turn off my firewall every time I test Xoops. It is a pain, but it is the only way I can run XOOPS locally.

Get rid of NIS. It is not a very good firewall anyway.

Add the other url to trusted sites in NIS somehow.

I would not know how in detail though since you could throw a ton of free full versions boxes of that after me and i would not touch it.

You might wanna do a search for nis and referrer since this came up in the past more than once.
