Ok this is my last question and will depend on whether I can roll out my new site using xoops. I HAVE to move my users and forum info over (below is what I have)if I can't do it I will have to stick with what I have now. I SOOO love the look of xoop and would love it if some how I can do this. I have read a post about some script but I was lost when I went to read it. If anyone knows what I need to do I would REALLY appreciate it.

I have a forum in phpbb 2.0.20 and am not sure what the xoop forum is my file says newbb here is the info in the module:

check CBB (former newbb) for that. There is an embeeded upgrade script in this module. Check out phpbb version, to make sure CBB script is able to upgrade by its own (if not, you will have to look for such a standalone script, there are serverals that are hunting our forums)

It gets a little confusing about which is the most recent Newbb version sometimes

The last Newbb version was 2.02 I think.

However, the module then became renamed, and continued development, as CBB (currently on version 3.05)

However, Phppp (the developer) has just posted a news item saying that he's renaming it as "newbb" again - I would suppose to save confusion :)

At the moment then, the most recent version is CBB 3.05 - available from http://www.xoopsforge.com

I just moved my forums from phpBB2 2.0.21 to CBB 3.05 I have to say I am stuned it went so easily.

Here is how I did it:
1. Go here http://romanais.info/forums/frxoops/topic_id14026-forum5/phpbb2cbb.txt
2. Copy this text and name it anything.php
3. Put it in your root directory
4. Surf to it
5. Enter your host/username/password/db information
6. Run the script
7. Done

If you want to read posts about this script from the author and get an additional script to help put your smilies in place (they will be gone in CBB after this) the put the following url into goolge and translate it (unless you read French): http://www.frxoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?viewmode=flat&topic_id=14026&forum=5

It worked beautifully for me.
