Hi everyone,
I believe most of us are able to install XOOPS onto the root domain without the /htdocs/ directory for the main page.

My question:
Is it possible to have modules installed but not into the modules folder?

For example I want my downloads folder to be at http://www.site.com/wfdownloads/ instead of http://www.site.com/modules/wfdownloads/

Is it possible? I am with XOOPS 2.0.14

Thanks in advance.

Leeky

Everything made by man is possible to remake.

I read something about short URL. Search for it!
And you can also try to hack XOOPS otherwise ! Lots and lots of work to remove ''/modules/'' in a few files rewrite many many path- ((this second choice could damage your brain !))

The idea of having your modules in one folder helps a lot to organise your webspace.

make a search for 'short url'

Thanks for the info on short URL. The hacks looks good. But adds another layer of code and some coding are needed everytime a new module is added.

Is there anyone with any experience to share?

Rather than using hacks, this is apparently something that will be implemented in XOOPS 2.3 - so if you have no immediate need for it, I would just wait for the next release

That is good news! Any one knows the timeline for the next release?

Leeky ; if the dev manage to find enough time to complete that new vers & to drop 'Santa clause' the new pack for us, I will happier than any kid.

Can't wait before launching myself in something new.
