Error installing XPress (WordPress for XOOPS) 1.5.2

hello,

I have atried to install teh module:
XPress (WordPress for XOOPS) 1.5.2

When I click "Install, rather than seeing the results from the installation script all I see is the word "Array" at the top of the page.

Any ideas why this might be happening?

Why do you install such an old version?

The current version is 2.04, which you can download from www.xoopsforge.com

Thanks for the pointer to the newer version. I will give it a go.

why did I install the old version? only because that was the version listed on the XOOPS module repository.

thanks for your reply, metropolis.
I visited www.xoopsforge.com and although wordpress 2.04 was listed the only file I could download was version 2.03, which I downloaded.

when I attempted to install Wordpress 2.03 I received the error:
---
Array
Fatal error: Undefined class name 'xoopslocal' in /home/adrianwo/public_html/mylife/modules/wordpress/include/xoops-wp.php on line 107
---

any ideas?

any assistance i swelcome.

Did you install the Frameworks folder as well? It has to be present unless you work under XOOPS 2.2. In the Frameworks folder you can find a file called local.php which contains that class.

Concerning the module repository: Yes, that's a big problem. A lot of modules are outdated.

Hi Metropolis,

thanks for your advice. I did this and Wordpress works.
now to make it viewable on my Top Page for Anon usres. just gotta read more, i think. :)

Now that you know this case, why can't you simply remove the old version and add the link to the latest version? Why not adressing it now instead of "in the near future"?
