Live server stats
-----------------
Xoops 2.0.14
PHP 4.4.1.0
SQL 4.1.1.1

Test Server stats
-----------------
Xoops 2.0.14 (exact copy)
PHP 5.1.4

I have two local host test servers using xampp with copies of my live site. Both upgraded from XOOPS newbb to cbb3.04 really easily. AND several times again and again it works perfectly.

Then when I upgraded to the live server as above the module loads but with no data - no posts, threads etc etc.

At first I thought maybe the difference between php versions might cause a problem but then I downgraded the php xampp servers to php 4.4.2 (not exactly the same but close). But I'm still getting errors upgrading the live server.

Resized Image

Under services there should be a number of forums instead I'm seeing 'alt=""' etc.

Clearly something is wrong.

thanks

Andrew

it seems a kind of database import problem.
are you sure about tables? bb_posts_text?
check it out with phpmyadmin

Hello;

mysite.com/modules/newBB/upgrade ....

And;

System > Modules Admin > NewBB (CBB) > Update

not sure what you mean here. I did update the newbb module and the system module in admin.

the other are you saying there's an upgrade script?

But also remember this exact same database and php setup upgrades perfectly on my test servers just not live.

should I switch off a live site before trying to update or shouldn't it make a difference?

This may be dumb to ask, but where is your sql databes being hosted at. When you say live and test. Are you testing on your own local host. Is your live site hosted elsewhere with another hosting company?

i'll take any thoughts right now :)

The live server (php & sql) are hosted on a web server run and mainatained by a hosting company.

The test servers are on my local pc using localhost (using xampp).

Site works fine live before the install of this module but fails as above when updated.

incase anyone else finds this thread and has the same problem I fixed it.

You just have to switch on the template update option in the general settings for a few seconds and the templates update and cbb looks find there after.
