Please help me out , I'm still searching for weeks to solve this problem but I still not succeded.

I made a site for friends and used Xoops, they use a lot the forum and I've installed newbb1,now they have used it for almost 6months but they need some hot features like "KIOVI editor"... But this is only possible using CBB but to upgrade from Newbb1 to CBB I need first to upgrade to newbb2 I understand from documents...

Can anyone tell me in details how, because I tried it, on a test site for several times , but when upgrading I loose data, and I don't want this....

Can anyone please explain me how just I need to do it.

No - that should not be neccessary.

You should be able to update from newbb1 directly to cbb (currently 3.04).

Just upload the files as described in the instructions. Then update the module. This should automaticly do the conversion also.


AS USUAL ITS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO BACKUP YOUR OLD FILES AND DATABASE BEFORE UPLOADING THE NEW FILES OR UPDATING THE MODULE.

I am not 100% sure about this and it is based on a thread I read before( I can't find it anymore to make a link reference), that there is an upgrade script between newbb1 to newbb2 which makes some changes to the database, this has to be done before going to directly into CBB.

Don't take my word for this as I don't have the process clear enough. I did experience a newbb2 to cbb upgrade and it went ok. Maybe Bender is right and I am not.
