Having trouble adding RSS feeds to my "Headlines" module.

1) One feed would pull no articles/items - had the same problem when trying the same thing in Drupal (specifically http://christianitytoday.com/lyris/rss/mostreads.xml). Got the header/link, but no news.

2) One attempted feed would not even create a header/link let alone any articles/items (specifically http://english.peopledaily.com.cn/rss/China.xml). This feed also failed in Drupal, although I at least got a "People's Daily" header!

Yes, I made sure the defaults were on, Display in Main Page, Display in Block. One of the feeds (specifically http://www.linuxjournal.com/node/feed) seems to work like a charm (same settings as other failed feeds, this feed also worked well in Drupal).

I am stumped. (2) troubles me more than (1). Why do I not at least get a second-third header, even if the items are not feeding properly? And why do some feeds appear to pull up no items (in XOOPS *and* in Drupal)? (Those feeds appear to work fine when I try them in Thunderbird. Even in Chinese.)

My rickwright.name/xoops test site is on 1and1.com. I am afraid I don't have complete information on all factors (hard to get from this company).

Try the XHLD 3.04 module from PEAK XOOPS. Maybe you'll have better luck with that one.

Extremely helpful. It seems the "native" headline module just does not always work. (Wonder why.) But the XHLD module works beautifully and better.

"Headline Module".

Were you able to get Headline news to display, pulling an RSS feed with more info than just the title and a hotlink?
