Thxz for the late reply to inform us, I know how hard that can be, and you show dedication in trying...

I too Agree!!!!!

Can someone please help with this again, it is possible!!
You can tell XOOPS as we are using variable and these can be redirected (as I am seeing and learning).

So why can't we make extra XOOPS files, the original members files>>>
Redirects its members file to a second members file>>>
This contains a new server location and says get Members from this server>>>
It would only take altering the config in the redirection file>>>
For each of us…
If introduced to core, admin controls in preferences..
Please tell me if there is anything disallowing this?

You see it is not to hack the whole database, as what is the point in that, yet the members is a needed asset to XOOPS in general....

Please I beg for this to be added to the core for security and not be a hack...

You see if we did this even with XOOPS network its self, when you are coding, you need to know if people are on Xoops.org when you are on XoopsDev, for questions and feedback...

Allowing this to function would then make it XOOPS would have more people online...People wouldn't need to join both, so allowing the growth of XOOPS module development as being our repository...
As in my opinion and many others, our repository really should be on the development still, as many of the modules in our repository are still not finish and full of hole as our comments will say...

So any one hearing me on us establishing a multisite members within Xoops???

Do any other CMS's do this or would we be first?

Also business possibilities are endless..

So...???

Basically what I was trying to o is similar to your suggestion with xoops.org and dev sites, also yeh, I dont wanna hack the DB as you are really asking for trouble, especially if your knowledge is limited. And still not word from Alfred :(

kinda what I was trying to do, ie keep two domains with different content yet still have common interests for people, the only request I have is the customers logging in as registered users be allowed to access the 2 (or more) sites with just a single username and password (not necessarily auto login to new site, just so they dont have to sign up for each site and confirm the account having several usernames and passwords for several sites).

I was reading in one forum list as someone referring to it as a similar concept to the MS Passport idea, for example in Australia we have http://www.ninemsn.com.au (aka msn.com.au) and if you sign in with that you are using the same username and password as your HOTMAIL account, (they take it one step further though which I am not interesting in atm) so you can log into ebay.com.au with same credentials (I think they may have stopped the affiliation, not sure but that is symantecs) People already have TOO many usernames and paswords they dont want to have more than they need.

An clear example would be if someone setup a webring of sites, different admins (to keep it simple we will say the same server, and if need be database but the database should not matter from what I read) a user goes from one site to the next, not having to re-register upteenth number of times, just login.

I second the above!

Ok, fantastic (which in english means VERY GOOD)..
So please let me know as I have really struggled with translations.. :( even in highschool, I was in the ESL class... (English second Language) go figure... maybe I was just lazy

Also is it worth trying the hack on 2.0.13.2 Xoops?

Once again thanks for your time and effort.

regards
Brian

OK, I think I may have got my head around it (even without the English version. Rereading Alfreds PMs to me I think I have an idea (I don't think I tried this yet) but you create site1, tell site1 to create a database for site2 then tell site2 to look at the prefix for site2 in site1's database.... from memory of looking at the database structures and changes this may be it! :) Anyone else tried yet? anyone else got it working?

Anyway I think it is starting to make sense now.

Will try as soon as I can.. chat you all later.
