is there anybody know gsdownloads module?

the latest version is released at 2002,i put it in the current XOOPS ,and found tons of errors.

could anybody tell me ,does the author reserv the right of modifying it? May i correct those errors and publish a new version?

The latest version in the Modules Repository is version 2.0.
It has been published in April 2004. Most of the files in the archive are last modified somewhere in October 2003.

You'll find Gsdownloads 2.0 here.

thanks for ur help, but the version 2.0 displays tons of warning too , and doesn't operate corrcetly.

I'm now trying to modify some line of the code.

Otherwise you could try WF-Dowloads 3.1 RC2.
This download module still gets developed and has support from the Smart-Factory.
This saves you a lot of troubleshooting time.

Bloody hell not seen that module for a long time, I believe there was a gsreviews module once too.

Any way in reply to your post as quoted here, it's gpl code and once released anyone can do pretty much anything with it, providing the credits remain intact should you redistribute it.

WFDownloads is by far superior now, but if memory serves me right one feature gsd had which wfd hasn't is the the chance of charging/price option.

gsdownloads has a feature ,that registered user can uploads files , and administrator has the right to approve them.
but wfdownloads opens all the administration right to user.

since when?

wfdownloads allows to have admin, approve or not. same for mirrors and same for reviews.

no admin rights are given to the user unless the webmaster gives them.

could I display a "submit" or "upload" link in the normal user interface by WFDownloads?
I thought that if a registered user wanna upload a file ,he must get into the module manager ,and he has the right to create or delete catalog...

yes, u can allow users to upload files from the user side :) registered users aswell as anonymous if need be.

you can even set a specific post count so that users who haven't made enough posts can't upload.. same with downloading too.

thanks a lot, I've got a WFDownloads working pretty. It's a great project.
