Hi,
I'm currently using XOOPS with success in a subdomain. It works perfectly.
My problem is this :
my XOOPS subdirectory is : http://www.mysite.com/xoops
I've a subdomain called xoops.mysite.com pointed to that directory.
But, when i open xoops.mysite.com, my browser displays http://www.mysite.com/xoops. I would like to keep seeing xoops.mysite.com also when browsing into my subdomain. How can i do this? Thanks for helping
Kikko

open up mainfile.php and define your url

Nice try "Will"...
Fyi... Biteronboard is my son... pain in the butt too. I like messing with him.

Anyway back to your problem...

You didn't say what kind of host you have Windows or Nix.
If you have a Nix host with a lamp setup like we do and your using whm/cpanel. You just set up a domain redirect thru cpanel. Then every time you hit mysite.com/xoops it will resolve to xoops.mysite.com

Let us know what kind of host you have if this doesn't solve your problem. That way someone who does have a host like yours will be able to explain domain redirect.

Regards
Billy

He said that he had already done that, now correct me if I am wrong here....

If you define your url as http://www.mysite.com in mainfile.php and your users navigate to http://mysite.com then XOOPS automatically directs to the w3

So if this statement holds to be truth, I would believe that if XOOPS is installed in a subdomain, then declaring the url would work the same.

Hi,
I'm using a Nix server with Cpanel, and I've already set the subdomain. My situation is this :
http://www.mydomain.com/xoops is the directory where i have xoops
xoops.mydomain.com is the subdomain i've created.

My problem is : if i open xoops.mydomain.com , browser correctly open the page http://www.mydomain.com/xoops BUT i would like my browser to keep displaying xoops.mydomain.com into the address bar.

A quick example : when using news module, I get this address into the browser address bar :
http://www.mysite.com/xoops/modules/news/
i would like the browser to display :
xoops.mysite.com/modules/news/

thanks for helping

It appears as though you have XOOPS installed in a sub-directory instead of a sub-domain. And your sub-domain has been redirected to your XOOPS sub-directory.

Can you give us the link to the site?

Did you create the sub-domain and then install xopps? Or did you install XOOPS first?
