i use XOOPS allot in designing and manipulation of existing themes i have to make them look better. However my task is becomming real tedious.

i use dreamweaver and frontpage, and topstlye.

I want to be able to view the full them on my pc, including viewable images and the effect alternation of style change makes on the website.

Currently i have to upload the theme to view how it will look (time consuming because i have to goto an internet cafe to upload and test).

Is there any tool, of software i need to use to be able to have a full look and feel of the theme i have designed on my pc before uploading it?

Help will be greatly appreciated

You can setup a local environment with e.g. WAMPServer and install XOOPS on your local PC.

Then you have a local webserver with Apache, PHP and MySQL and you can test your theme(s) on your local PC.

i just downloaded the software and i am good to go.

Can u please point me to where i can get a turorial on how to install XOOPS on my PC.

I can;t tell you which one exactly but take a browse through these docs links (in sig below) - I am sure one will help you out - just might take a bit of time to pick which one unless you wait for someone else to pin it down for you. Check the FAQ's too.

I excitedly downloaded the server you recommended
but after installation, i did not work.

When i openedhttp://localhost/
the page appeared saying it could not find the server.

Is there anything i did wrongly, because i did install it well.


Please help me.

OR IS THER ANOTHER easy to install server i can use?
