Can anyone help me on this:
I moved all files from the old site, modified mainfile.php and DB. everything seems working properly. Now I just found out I can't install new modules. I FTPed all files to the right place including the xoops_version.php file. I can't see the new mudule icon from the module admin page. I tried clean up the cache and template_c directories but doesn't help. I tried to change theme and update all existing modules including the system module, but the problem is still there. What else I could do?

Any advice will be appreciated!

Vincent

Just to eliminate one "potential" issue...

Make sure that you have the right owner and user rights on your files, not just by name but also by ID. In other words, try to reset the ownership.

Reason for mentioning this:
Especially if you move files between two physical different Unix/Linux systems, users (even if named the same) can have different id's and therefore the rights can be different.

Good luck

Cheers

Aprox

Re: Module install problem

Did you solve this problem?

I'm having the same trouble with XOOPS not recognising my new module.

It's simple, custom-made and seems to have everything in the right place (xoops_version.php etc...)

But it doesn't show up on the module install page.

Re: Module install problem

me too

I've checked the permissions, file content etc... posted a couple of threads and no response...

it looks like my custom module will have to stay as a add on 'include' page.

I would have thought someone would have solved this problem of modules not appearing in the admin install page!

Re: Module install problem

Yes, the mainfile.php path is correct.

The rest of the site is fine.

It's just that the custom module doesn't show in admin even though the xoops_version.php file appears correct.

Re: Module install problem -solved!

PROBLEM SOLVED!

I turned on PHP Debug and got this error:

Fatal errorCannot redeclare WfsArticle::$groupid in /home/ajet/public_html/modules/wfsection/class/wfsarticle.php on line 61

Because I'm not even using wfsection, I deleted the module folder and all is peachy.

cheers,

D.

Re: Module install problem -solved!

IM having similar problems with all new modules coming up as a blank white area. Host switched servers on me and ever since every module does this. Ive tried mainfile, xoop version is correct, driving me crazy! Time to throw site offline and debug.
