You should give more info, like:
What version of Xoops?
what version of news?
did you just change something or was everything fine and one day this happened?
Did you delete the files in the templates_c folder? if not try it.
Do you have a cloned template set, if so try going to system preferences and set the template set to default and see if that helps.
if so delete your cloned template set, then try to update the system module, then reclone a new one and change back to your cloned set in preferences.
