My site isn’t sending email. I’m using XOOPS 2.0.13.2. I went to “Find Users” and I saw 3 inactive users. The administrators did not receive an email. I registered to see if I would receive an email and did not. I have the site set so the user gets an email to activate their account. I’m using Liaise as my Contact Us module. Liaise sends emails to all the administrators. I tried using it and it did not sent an email to the administrators. The site did work fine I don’t know why it’s not working now. The web host I use uses
PHP – 4.3.10
MySQL – 4.0.25
PERL – 5.8.4
Apache – 1.3.34
Any ideas of why my email is not working now? My site is at: http://doctrinesofgrace.net Should I reload the core files?

Thanks,
Buddy

Hi Buddy,

I have the same problem. The site used to send activation emails, then stopped. I had to manually go in and activate each user (23 of them)! However, I can send emails to my users and they get them with no problem.

I haven't been able to get it to work since. I've tried different mail settings (PHP, SMTP, SMTPAuth) and nothing works. Searching this site provides no help, there seems to be mail problems all over, but never any real resolution.

Unfortunately, I have to set the registration to automatic, which I detest! But it's what I have to do to keep my users.

Incidentally, I'm using 2.2.4.

Good luck!

Thank you for the reply! I guess I will need to set mine to automatic registration also.

Thanks,
Buddy

Are you using SMTP Auth? If so check https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=48498&start=0#forumpost212901, it worked for me with XOOPS 2.0.13.2.

You may also want to check to see if your host implemented SPF (Sender Policy Framework) for your e-mail server recently. If so, changing your SPF policy may solve your problems (this happened to me last week).

Many hosts are implementing SPF in order to keep from being listed in ORBS and other spam dB's.
