Are you using SMTP Auth? If so checkhttps://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=48498&start=0#forumpost212901, it worked for me with XOOPS 2.0.13.2.

You-re right, in order to update to update phpmailer in XOOPS you just have to replace the files class.phpmailer.php and class.smtp.php.

Sending mail fails if using SMTP with authentication.
Using XOOPS 2.0.13.2 you get the error "SMTP authentication fails" whenever XOOPS tries to send an e-mail via SMTP with authentication.
I looked around and the problem is common although I couln't find a straight forward answer, which is: update phpmailer from 1.65 (included in XOOPS 2.0.13.2 distribution) to version 1.73 available onhttp://phpmailer.sourceforge.net.
Thanks!

Hi Mithrandir,

Thanks for the prompt reply.
Language problem: ok, I can live with that.
Relative URL: now this is a problem for me... are you thinking of changing that in a near future?

Thanks again

Hi,

I have 2 problems I can't get ride off.
First, I need a link to open a XOOPS site on a particular language even if it is a different language than the one the site uses by default and is set explicitly on Control Panel / General Settings /Preferences / Language (something likehttps://xoops.org/index.php?language=english would solve my problem).
The other problem I have is with the XOOPS_URL value. I need to use a relative path for XOOPS_URL but when I do it I get a messed up URL. I think this is a bug on 2.0.9 and I just oppened a bug report on Source Forge but hten again maybe I'm supposed to use only absolute URLs... is that so?

Thanks

Thanks smdcom. But I didn't make myself clear.
What I need is to have several default languages according to the each user's language.
That is to say that if I detect that he's from Portugal I want XOOPS to be presented in portuguese.
So what I though of was what I tried to explain earlier.
My problem is that I can't find a way to pass the language on the URL. Is there a way to do it?
Thanks again

Hi,
I need to setup a website that works with a couple of different language, let's say portuguese and spanish.
I though of creating a PHP script to detect the language settings provided by the browser and accordingly redirect to a startpage in portuguese or spanish.
Should the detected language be different than these 2, the user should be redirected to a startpage in english.
My problem is that I couldn't find a way to specify the language on the query string. Is there a way to start XOOPS with the language specified in the url, something likehttp://mysite.xoops.org/index.php?language=english ?
Thanks
